What it's like
eggman holds around 350 people, which makes it a mid-sized room with a long history. It has hosted everyone from newcomers to veterans, and the lineup ranges from rock and pop to DJ events, comedy, theater and idol shows. The rounded floor, which gives the venue its name, makes the room feel a bit different from the usual box-shaped live house.
For popular acts, it's worth checking ticket availability in advance. Weekend nights sometimes run into late-night club hours, so check the Open and Start times on each listing.
How to get there
eggman is about a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station. Directions from venue listings:
- Leave Shibuya Station through the Hachiko Exit and head toward the Seibu department store, then up the slope toward NHK along Koen-dori (Park Street).
- Keep going uphill with Parco on your left.
- The venue is at the corner where Cornet Street meets Koen-dori, in the basement (B1F) of the building.
The walk is uphill, so allow a little extra time. If you're coming from Harajuku, it's about 11 minutes on foot. Landmarks change over time, so search for "Shibuya eggman" in your map app as well.
Tickets and the door
Ticket details are listed on each show's page on the venue's website. Many shows use e+ or LivePocket, and many bands also take reservations directly (called torioki, where you give your name and pay at the door). Each show page on this site links to the official page when one is available. If you're new to the system, our first-timer's guide explains Adv/Door prices and reservations.
- Drink fee: A separate one-drink fee is collected at the entrance. Our live house guide explains how it works.
- Bags: Locker availability isn't clearly listed, so it's safest to travel light or ask the venue.
- Late nights: If you plan to stay for a late-night event, check your last train home. Most trains stop around midnight.
