What first-time visitors need to know about JAM in Nishi-Eifuku: how to get there from Shimokitazawa or Kichijoji, capacity, the cafe, the cloakroom, tickets and last trains.
JAM (ジャム) is a live house in Nishi-Eifuku, a quiet residential neighborhood in Suginami on the Keio Inokashira Line. It opened on June 1, 2018, as the successor to the legendary Shinjuku JAM, which first opened in 1980 and closed at the end of 2017. It holds about 250 people, sits less than a minute from the station, and has its own cafe attached.
Info checked against the venue's channels and venue listings on October 18, 2026. Details can change, so confirm on the official page for your show.

What it's like
JAM is a compact basement room with a flat floor and a stage at a comfortable height, so even the back of the room has a reasonable view. The venue carries on the spirit of Shinjuku JAM and is operated by the Rinky Dink Studio group. Listings describe a mix of rock, pop, acoustic and folk acts.
The attached CAFE 1980 serves food and drinks as a place to relax with friends and meet the artists. It's described as usable even if you're not seeing a show. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, close to Wadabori Park, so it feels very different from central Tokyo.
How to get there
JAM is just outside Nishi-Eifuku Station on the Keio Inokashira Line:
- Leave through the South Exit of Nishi-Eifuku Station.
- Take the small road to the right of the 7-Eleven in front of the plaza.
- After about 40 meters, look on the right for a white building with a pachinko parlor on the ground floor. JAM is in the basement.
From Shimokitazawa, it's about 12 minutes on the local train. From Kichijoji, it's about 11 minutes. Landmarks change over time, so search for "Nishi-Eifuku JAM" in your map app as well.
Last trains
Nishi-Eifuku is a small local station, so it's worth checking your last train before you go. A venue guide lists the last train toward Shibuya as about 00:24 and toward Kichijoji as about 00:52, but timetables change, so check your own route.
Tickets and the door
Ticket details are listed on each show's page on the venue's website. Many shows use e+ or LivePocket, and many bands also take reservations directly (called torioki, where you give your name and pay at the door). Each show page on this site links to the official page when one is available. If you're new to the system, our first-timer's guide explains Adv/Door prices and reservations.
- Drink fee: A separate one-drink fee is collected at the entrance. Our live house guide explains how it works.
- Bags: Coin lockers are reported to be unavailable, but a cloakroom is reported. Confirm before you go.
