Kichijoji WARP Guide: A 200-Capacity Basement Venue Since 1998
What first-time visitors need to know about WARP in Kichijoji: how to get there from the station, capacity, late-night club nights, the cloakroom, tickets and etiquette.
WARP (ワープ) is a live house in the basement of a building a short walk from Kichijoji Station, on Tokyo's western side. It opened in 1998 and has been a steady home for punk, hardcore, alternative rock and other edgy sounds ever since. The floor holds about 200 standing, so the bands are right in front of you. If you want a gig away from the central Tokyo crowds, Kichijoji is a nice change of pace.
Info checked against the venue's channels and venue listings on October 18, 2026. Details can change, so confirm on the official page for your show.

What it's like
WARP is a compact standing room with a rock-leaning schedule. It describes itself as an all-genre venue that's strongest on rock, and it has built a reputation for edgy scenes such as punk, hardcore and alternative rock. Because the floor is small, the distance between the band and the crowd is short, and the energy tends to be high. On weekends, the venue turns into CLUB WARP late at night, so the same room hosts DJ events after the live shows.
The studio upstairs belongs to the same group, so bands can rehearse there before a show.
How to get there
WARP is a short walk from the station, heading east along the railway:
- Leave Kichijoji Station through the Central Exit (JR Chuo Line / Keio Inokashira Line) and turn right.
- Walk along the JR Chuo Line viaduct toward Shinjuku.
- At the intersection with the Nakano School of Business on the corner, turn left.
- Walk past Hotel New York and a Ministop convenience store. WARP is in the basement (B1F) of the building on your left.
Landmarks change over time, so search for "Kichijoji WARP" in your map app as well.
Etiquette outside
The venue asks visitors not to gather or make noise around the entrance, because neighbors live nearby. There's no parking, and you can't leave bikes or motorbikes in front of the shop. Please wait elsewhere when you arrive early.
Tickets and the door
Ticket details are listed on each show's page on the venue's website. Many shows use e+ or LivePocket, and many bands also take reservations directly (called torioki, where you give your name and pay at the door). Each show page on this site links to the official page when one is available. If you're new to the system, our first-timer's guide explains Adv/Door prices and reservations.
- Drink fee: A separate one-drink fee is collected at the entrance. Our live house guide explains how it works.
- Bags: Coin lockers are reported to be unavailable, but a cloakroom is reported. Confirm before you go.
- Late nights: If you plan to stay for a weekend late-night event, check your last train home. Most trains stop around midnight.
